Audio cutter and converter

Trim MP3 and WAV audio with a waveform, zoom and precise controls. Convert multiple files and download the results directly in your browser.

Step 1 of 3 · Upload and trim

Processed on your device

Your audio, just the part you need

Drop MP3 or WAV files. Choose a segment, listen to it and convert your batch in the next step.

Up to 5 files · 25 MiB per file · 50 MiB total · 10 min per audio · 15 min per batch

Checking temporary storage…

Your audio is not uploaded to our servers. IndexedDB only transfers it temporarily between pages; edits are not saved and work cannot be resumed. Use one tab and download before leaving results.

Engine licenses and source code

Prepare a voice clip, music segment or sound effect for your next project. Each file has its own trim and the batch shares an output format. The waveform helps locate silence and explore long sections with zoom and horizontal scrolling.

Your audio is processed on your device and is not uploaded to our servers. Upload, processing and results are separate pages. The processing page loads no advertising. You need no account or software installation.

Use cases

  • Remove silence at the start or end of a narration.
  • Extract a sound effect for a game, demo or tutorial.
  • Prepare multiple MP3 clips for sharing or WAV files for further editing.

How to use it

  1. 1 Select or drop local MP3 or WAV files. Incompatible files are identified before starting. Add more files or remove items as needed.
  2. 2 Open Edit. Set start and end using the waveform, sliders, seconds or ±1 and ±0.1 s buttons. Zoom in, scroll and use Fit selection to center the segment.
  3. 3 Listen to the selection and choose the original format, MP3 or WAV. Click Process files to move to local conversion. You can cancel and start from scratch.
  4. 4 Download individual files or the batch ZIP in results. Process new audio files returns to an empty start page. Download before reloading or leaving: there is no history or recovery.

Technical details

  • Inputs: mono or stereo MP3 and WAV that your browser can decode with Web Audio. Headers and actual decoding are checked. MKV, MP4, M4A/AAC, FLAC, Ogg/Opus, remote URLs and track selection are not supported.
  • Up to 5 files, 25 MiB per file, 50 MiB total input, 10 minutes per audio and 15 minutes per batch. Outputs: up to 180 MiB plus an equivalent ZIP. Available memory may impose lower limits, especially on phones; try a short file first.
  • When converting or trimming: 192 kb/s MP3 or 16-bit PCM WAV, both at 44.1 kHz and two channels. The single-thread FFmpeg WebAssembly engine and ZIP Worker run only during processing. The initial engine download is about 10 MiB and may take a moment.
  • IndexedDB is used only to transfer files between pages. It is cleared when results are consumed, on cancellation, failure or return to the start. An abrupt close can leave remnants until the next start, site-data clearing or browser eviction. There is no background expiry or recoverable editing. Use one tab.

FAQ

Does keeping the format avoid quality loss?

If there is no trim or conversion, original bytes are kept. Trimming MP3 requires re-encoding and may lose quality even in the same format. PCM WAV avoids lossy compression, but converting MP3 to WAV does not restore lost information.

Which download format should I choose?

MP3 is widely compatible and takes less space: useful for voice, music and sharing clips. WAV is much larger and practical for audio editors and game engines. With Keep original format, each file stays MP3 or WAV according to its input.

Can I recover work after reloading?

No. Editing and downloads live in memory. Transfers are consumed once and reloading does not rerun the batch. If a step fails, return to the start and select your audio again.

Why is an audio file rejected?

It may exceed the limits, have more than two channels, be empty, corrupted or use a codec your browser cannot preview. Changing the extension does not convert the content. Use a valid MP3 or WAV and an up-to-date browser with Web Audio, IndexedDB, Web Locks and WebAssembly.
